In order to make the operation of air flight, air communication, air navigation and air transportation services safe, regular, standard and efficient in Nepal, the authority has the following Air transport service and facility development plan can be formulated and implemented in the following subjects:-
(a) Construction, reconstruction, development, expansion and maintenance of the airport. In this way, while building a new airport, the prior approval of the Government of Nepal will have to be taken. During the construction, reconstruction, development and expansion of the airport, the environmental impact has to be evaluated and prior approval of the relevant authorities should also be taken.
(b) To operate air transport services.
(c) Arranging necessary communication and aviation support equipment and other devices and equipment etc. at the airport, airport area and airways and related places.
(d) To use and introduce advanced and state-of-the-art technologies related to the operation of air transport services.
(e) Development and expansion of national and international air routes.
(f) To provide the required level of passenger service facilities for air passengers.
(g) Arrange and conduct high-level training and study to prepare skilled manpower in the subjects related to air transport services and facilities development plan.
(h) To support the tourism industry, carry out activities related to air transport, civil aviation and airports and airport areas.
(j) To perform other tasks related to the above-mentioned tasks.
